Music Tech Teacher
This site was used as an extension of my music technology and band classrooms. I taught Instrumental Music (Band and Music Technology) from 1992-2018 in the Birmingham City School System before retiring. My students learned how to read, write, compose, publish and perform their music. This site includes student projects and work, videos, photos and music compositions from my former students. The site also has music technology links, quizzes, resources and information for all music teachers interested in using technology to enhance music instruction. I hope that the site will serve as a valuable resource for teachers and students. Thank you for visiting!

North Carolina Symphony Virtual Education
During this unprecedented time, students need access to the arts more than ever—and at the Symphony, our music education mission remains constant. To that end, we have released a digital broadcast of a North Carolina Symphony Education Concert and its companion materials, to support teachers who are engaging their students virtually and parents/guardians who are continuing their children’s education at home. This educational content is available free of charge for students, teachers, parents, and audiences of all ages to access and enjoy across North Carolina and worldwide.
These materials were developed by the North Carolina Symphony in close partnership with our state’s music educators. The concepts taught in the video and in the Student Book align with the state curriculum for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students set by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. (This said, we welcome anyone and everyone to watch, listen, learn, and enjoy!)
We are grateful for the capability to continue serving and connecting with our audiences through virtual resources during this challenging time. We are honored to support parents and teachers in carrying forward the education of our youth—and we aim to provide children and adults alike with comfort and inspiration through music.
