  • Bartleby.com: Great Books Online Collection of fiction, nonfiction, verse, and reference works available in the public domain.
  • British Library's Digitised Manuscripts Digitized copies of manuscripts and archives in the British Library.
  • Europeana: Books Digital collection from thousands of archives, libraries, and museums. Intended to share Europe's culture with the world. 
  • Literary Hub - Daily literary site that publishes essays about all things literature.
  • Poetry Foundation - To promote & expand poetry in the United States. 
  • Project Gutenberg Provides over 100,000 free electronic books, audio books, and cds and dvds. The online catalog on the site’s main page allows for searching and browsing for materials and a number of foreign language books are offered. Over 33,000 free eBooks can currently be downloaded to personal computers and portable devices such as iPad, Kindle and iPhone.
  • World Digital Library Online collection of thousands of items from countries around the world. Includes over 2,000 books.
